The 120 meter high RCC (Roller Compacted Concrete) multipurpose dam of Pamukluk is going to be used for domestic water supply, irrigation and energy production. The dam type is studied for 3 alternatives (RCC, Concrete Lined and Asphalt Cored Alternatives) and their economic comparisons is prepared. Especially the need for water supply to the large cities of Mersin and Adana makes the dam an emergent one to be realised.
After being assigned by the State Hydraulic Works General Directorate, ESPM reviewed the previous studies and documents, and found out that flood calculations had to be revised. Cartography and geological investigations will be done. Based on geological report, dam and diversion and energy tunnels, power plant, cofferdam structures locations shall be determined. Final design and calculations will be done accordingly. Project Bill of Quantities and cost calculations are to be prepared for construction tendering.
